First CSA pickup of the season!

We picked up our first CSA share of the spring today, and it kills! In a good way. Collards, broccoli, lettuce…

…carrots, daikon radish, pea tendril salad, kale, green garlic, Brussels sprouts. What have I forgotten?

If you don’t know already (and you probably do if you’re reading this), Green Gate Farms is a small family farm eight miles east of downtown Austin that uses sustainable growing methods to raise vegetables, herbs, flowers and meat. They use no synthetic pesticides/fertilizers ever, and for me, it could not be more local.

If you would like a share of Green Gate’s weekly vegetables—as well as optional eggs, flowers, meat, honey, and other local treats—sign up now by contacting Erin Flynn at 512-949-9831 or visiting the website. You can also check out their farm stand at 8310 Canoga Avenue, Austin, TX 78724 Fridays 12-6 and Saturdays 10-2.
